More than 13 thousand enterprises with Russian participation have already been registered in Kazakhstan.

With the beginning of the so-called "military operation" of Russia in Ukraine, Kazakhstan has become a magnet for companies escaping sanctions pressure, EL.kz reports with reference to finprom.kz.

So, by the end of May this year, the number of operating foreign enterprises in Kazakhstan increased by 12.7% since the beginning of the year, to 25 thousand. At the same time, if we consider the monthly growth, the surge in the inflow of foreign companies into Kazakhstan expectedly began in March 2022.

In March 2022, the growth in the sector was 3.3%, in April - 4%, in May - 4%. These are the maximum values in recent years. For comparison: in general, in 2021, the average monthly growth rate of the number of foreign companies was only 1.1%.

In turn, the number of registered legal entities, branches and affiliates of foreign legal entities with foreign participation by the end of May reached 40.2 thousand.

From January to May of this year, the indicator increased by 2.4 thousand companies. At the same time, the main inflow falls on organizations from Russia: plus 1.6 thousand. At the end of May 2022, their number reached 13 thousand.

Meanwhile, the top three in terms of growth in the number of companies were also Uzbekistan (plus 205 organizations) and Belarus (plus 120 organizations).

The main influx of companies from Russia and Belarus is associated with the sanctions. Given the current dynamics and uncertainty regarding the future situation related to the geopolitical crisis, it can be assumed that the influx of Russian companies will continue further.
