The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Qatar Arman Issagaliev met with the Deputy Speaker of Qatar’s Shura Council Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, El.kz cites MFA.
During the conversation, the sides noted the importance of bilateral cooperation between the parliaments of both countries, while considering the ways to build up a mutually beneficial partnership.
The Kazakh diplomat noted that according to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s State of the Nation Address “Economic Course of a Just Kazakhstan”, the formula “a strong President – an influential Parliament – an accountable Government” has become more deeply entrenched in Kazakhstan, additionally informing about the active work aimed at fulfillment of large-scale political reforms. Also, the full text of Kazakh President’s State of the Nation Address, translated into Arabic, was transferred to the Qatar’s Shura Council.
At the same time, the sides confirmed the mutual readiness for further deepening of multifaceted relations, which have been developing with the support of the leaders of the two countries. In this regard, an agreement was reached to organize the first meeting of the parliamentary cooperation group between the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Shura Council of the State of Qatar.
Hamda Al Sulaiti commended the socio-economic transformations initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and noted the growing role and authority of Kazakhstan in the international arena. In this context, the Qatari side highly appreciated Astana's international initiatives on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, promoting interreligious dialogue and strengthening stability in the world.
In addition, the Deputy Chairman of Qatar’s Shura Council, noted with satisfaction the growing economic indicators between the two countries, confirmed Qatar’s intention to further expand bilateral contacts with Kazakhstan.
As a result of the meeting, an action plan was approved to develop relations between the parliaments of both states
