A state visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan is set to take place on November 27, Murat Nurtleu, the republic’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, announced at a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in Astana, El.kz reports citing TASS.

"The state visit to Kazakhstan by the Russian president on November 27 will be essential in promoting [our] multidimensional partnership," he said.

In turn, Lavrov stated that the two sides were working on "major arrangements ahead of the Russian president’s state visit to Kazakhstan on November 27." According to him, "several dozen documents" are in the pipeline to "make the upcoming summit as productive as possible."

Putin last paid a state visit to Kazakhstan a year ago and attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Astana in July.
