Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Belarus discussed issues of trade and economic cooperation

Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektanov and Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko held talks in Minsk. They discussed the progress of the agreements reached by the heads of the two countries regarding the development of trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation. The meeting focused on the industrial cooperation, agriculture, the construction industry, transportation, the IT sector, and tourism, El.kz reports citing the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.

The mutual trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan with Belarus over the first eight months of this year amounted to $600 million.

Over the first nine months of the year, volumes in the sphere of road transport increased by 19%, reaching 450.6 thousand tons.

The governments of Kazakhstan and Belarus are working together to develop industrial cooperation. There are 14 projects in total worth $277.5 million, aimed at creating 1,800 jobs. Of these, 11 joint enterprises have already been launched in Kazakhstan's regions with investments exceeding $200 million, creating 1,600 jobs.

As a result of the negotiations, several bilateral documents were signed, including: a Roadmap between the governments of Kazakhstan and Belarus for the development of trade and economic cooperation for 2025-2029, aimed at expanding the pool of joint projects and establishing closer ties between the business communities; a Cooperation Agreement between JSC "NC "Kazakh Tourism" and the National Agency for Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, which provides for the exchange of experience in the fields of ecological, ski, rural, medical, and youth tourism; and an Action Plan for cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere for 2025-2026, according to the statement.

In Minsk, Olzhas Bektanov also visited the High Technologies Park, where he was presented with digital projects being implemented in areas such as cloud technologies, cybersecurity, the financial sector, and more.
