Presidents of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan sign strategic agreement on integration of energy systems

On the sidelines of the COP29 World Climate Summit, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed an Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the field of the development and transition of green energy between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, El.kz news agency reports citing Akorda.

– The signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement is an important stage of trilateral cooperation in the development of the regions of Central Asia and the South Caucasus. It opens up new opportunities for the integration of the energy systems of our states, as well as the creation of reliable corridors for the supply of clean energy to European and other markets. Kazakhstan plays an important role as a large transit territory. Its outcomes will contribute to the development of the Middle Corridor as a "green bridge" connecting our economies. Close cooperation in this key area will speed up the exchange of experience and advanced technologies between the three states and will further strengthen our energy security," the President said.

According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakhstan reached th agreements on the implementation of green projects with a total capacity of 43 GW.
