Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan hold talks in narrow format

Presidents of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Uzbek Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks in a narrow format, El.kz reports citing  Akorda.

The Head of State noted that his visit is of great importance for the further development of cooperation and alliance between the countries.

"In recent years, the atmosphere of relations between our countries has changed dramatically for the better. We will make every effort to give concrete content to our cooperation. This visit is very important, as we will sign documents that will determine specific areas of cooperation and alliance between our states," the President of Kazakhstan said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm welcome and stressed the importance of this state visit to Kazakhstan:

"Today's visit is of historic importance. Our meeting will further strengthen the centuries-old ties of friendship and good neighborliness between the two peoples, bring the relations of strategic partnership and alliance to a new level."

During the talks, the prospects for further strengthening cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transport and transit, investment, energy, agrarian, water, cultural and humanitarian spheres and industrial cooperation were discussed. Issues of the regional and international agenda were also considered.

The Presidents noted with satisfaction the progressive development of Kazakh-Uzbek relations in all areas.
