Presidents of Kazakhstan and Armenia discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan  held talks in Astana. The meeting discussed the prospects for strengthening Kazakh-Armenian cooperation.

Tokayev expressed confidence that the current agreements will contribute to their strengthening, El.kz reports.

"Armenia is a reliable partner for Kazakhstan. Our nations are linked by strong ties of friendship and similar cultural and humanitarian values," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the countries.

The President of Kazakhstan noted the active development of cultural exchanges, including the Days of Kazakh Theater in Yerevan last year and the upcoming Decade of Culture of Kazakhstan in Armenia.

The President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and stressed Armenia's commitment to the further development of friendly relations with Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed the expansion of cooperation in trade, economic, transport and logistics, agriculture, financial, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of digitalization.

Tokayev also confirmed Kazakhstan's readiness to provide the Almaty platform for negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the conclusion of a peace treaty.
