Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev shared his vision of the global political and economic situation, El.kz reports.
"The economic and social problems caused by the pandemic, the decline in the standard of living of people, forced isolation have caused an outpouring of discontent and protests. The pandemic has forced a new look at the problems of balanced economic and technological development, environmental preservation, reduction of social, gender and digital inequality," Maulen Ashimbayev said at the 10th meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
In these conditions, the Speaker of the Senate believes, both ordinary citizens and political leaders need spiritual support, a new value paradigm, and ideological guidelines.
"We are convinced that the contours of a new post-pandemic world, the fundamental principles of its development cannot be discussed without the participation of religious and spiritual leaders. To build a more balanced, harmonious and environmentally friendly world, the efforts of politicians and business alone are clearly not enough," Ashimbayev said.
"It is spiritual leaders and religious figures who are able to fill the worldview and spiritual vacuum with new meanings. To consolidate the world community on the basis of a constructive agenda. To create conditions for a comprehensive dialogue for the sake of peace and prosperity of mankind. These and other issues will be discussed at the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions," the Senate Speaker added.
