Pakistan supports expanding interregional cooperation with Kazakhstan

A meeting took place between the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, and Nawabzada Yousaf Khan Hoti, a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PMLQ) party, representing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province,El.kz cites MFA.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the current state and future prospects of Kazakhstan-Pakistan cooperation across various sectors, with particular emphasis on strengthening business ties, establishing a dialogue on security issues, fostering interaction at the regional authorities’ level, and simplifying the visa regime between the two countries.

Ambassador Kistafin briefed on the priorities of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan agenda, highlighting the importance of enhancing information exchange between the two countries. According to him, strengthening information interaction contributes to a deeper mutual understanding and supports the development of connections, including those between business communities. The Ambassador also underscored the strategic significance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, describing it as a “gateway” for Kazakhstan.

In response, Hoti provided an overview of the current situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the business opportunities available for developing trade and economic cooperation with Kazakhstan. He emphasized the close, friendly relations between the two countries and expressed his readiness to facilitate interactions with the official, business, and academic circles of the province.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Pakistani politician extended an invitation to the head of the Kazakh mission to visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and his hometown of Mardan to explore and discuss potential areas of bilateral cooperation.
