Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin held a meeting with the Minister of Maritime Affairs of Pakistan Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, El.kz cites Kazakh FM.
The head of the Kazakh diplomatic mission informed the Pakistani minister about the priorities of the bilateral agenda, the events planned for this year, as well as the work being carried out in the context of establishing a connection between the transport and logistics infrastructures of Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
Ambassador Kistafin especially noted that the seaports of the IRP can serve as transit hubs not only for Kazakhstan, but also for the whole of Central Asia, providing access to the markets of the Persian Gulf, Africa and Southeast Asia.
For his part, the Federal Minister supported the proposals voiced, expressing his readiness to provide the necessary assistance in establishing cooperation in the field of transport and logistics. An agreement was reached to organize a visit of a group of specialists from the transport sector of Kazakhstan to Pakistan to get acquainted with the infrastructure of the sea ports of Karachi, Qasim and Gwadar.
The parties expressed a common opinion on the need to create and diversify multimodal transport and logistics corridors that will contribute to the development of interregional cooperation not only at the bilateral level, but also in a multilateral format.
