Olzhas Bektenov and Mikhail Mishustin discuss trade and economic cooperation issues

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov and the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin held bilateral talks, El.kz reports citing primeminister.kz.

The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached at the level of the heads of state, including on increasing mutual trade to $30 billion, transit and transport cooperation, interaction in the field of agriculture, environmental protection, energy and gas, space spheres, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties.

Over the past year, the volume of bilateral trade increased by almost 3% and reached $27.8 billion. One of the important areas of bilateral cooperation is interaction in the agro-industrial complex.

At the end of last year, as a result of the lifting of mutual restrictions on a bilateral basis, trade in the sphere increased by 4.5% and amounted to $3.8 billion.

In the transit and transport direction, the indicators of cargo traffic along the eastern branch of the North-South International Transport Corridor increased to 2.4 million tons at the end of last year.
