A new modern airport terminal is being built in Shymkent, El.kz reports.
Private investors are building a new passenger terminal in the city. 120-150 people are involved in construction work.
To date, the roof of the terminal is completely closed, façade and ventilation systems are being installed. Today, the mayor of the city M. Aitenov got acquainted with the construction and spoke in detail about the progress of work.
Now luggage system devices, elevators, escalators are being installed, engineering networks are being built.
The implementation of the entire project has now reached 85%. In order to support the investor, the administration carried out landscaping of the parking lot in front of the airport, the construction of an access road to the new terminal, and the laying of utilities to the passenger terminal. Today, the airport's capacity is 200 people per hour, but after the commissioning of the new terminal, it will increase to 2,000 people per hour, the press service of the akimat reports.
The total area of the new terminal is 35 thousand square meters. In addition, the project provides 4 galleries for advanced requirements. According to the production schedule, the new terminal will be commissioned this year.
