Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms detention of Kazakh citizen for vandalism in Pompeii

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan confirmed the detention of  tourist from Kazakhstan for causing damage to an architectural monument in Pompeii, El.kz reports.

According to the ministry, our compatriot was detained for illegally writing on a historical building.

“In Italy, our citizen was detained for illegally writing an inscription on a historical building. After completing all the necessary formalities in law enforcement agencies, he was released," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.

Further court proceedings against the Kazakhstani citizen will be held administratively.

li it became known that a Kazakh tourist was detained for applying the inscription "ALI" on the ancient wall of the House of Tsey in the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. The man will have to compensate for the damage for the restoration of the monument.
