Minister of Science and Higher Education meets with residents of Astana

Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek held a meeting with residents of Astana to discuss key initiatives in the field of science, higher education and social support for students, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The Minister presented the results of the Ministry's work, including the introduction of the Keleshek system.

This program, approved by the Senate in 2023, allows parents to plan their children's education by providing seed capital and annual rewards.

Sayasat Nurbek also spoke about plans to create an academic hub through the opening of branches of foreign universities.

This year, branches of the Beijing Language and Culture University and the British Coventry University were opened in Astana. On the basis of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, the Lu Ban workshop is being developed.

At the meeting, measures of social support for scientists, attracting young specialists to science and plans for the development of scientific research were discussed.

The Minister presented a draft law on endowment funds aimed at supporting universities with patrons, graduates and businesses.

During the personal reception of citizens, Sayasat Nurbek answered questions from residents related to the financing of science, student support and the development of higher education. All appeals were taken under personal control.
