A national report on the implementation of international obligations in the field of human rights protection of Kazakhstan was presented in Geneva, El.kz reports citing the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the 48th session of UPR Working Group Kazakhstan presented the 4th National Report, which reflects the country's achievements over the past five years and identifies priorities for further development in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms.
The Kazakh delegation, headed by Minister of Justice Yerlan Sarsembayev, also included Deputy Head of the Judicial Administration Musralynov Asylbek, representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Culture and Information, Foreign Affairs, Labor and Social Protection, Health and Education. In his speech, Sarsembayev stressed that since the submission of the previous report in November 2019, the country has implemented a number of key initiatives that contribute to further democratization.
Particular attention is paid to ensuring accessible and fair justice through the introduction of administrative justice mechanisms, improving judicial proceedings and carrying out large-scale reforms in the judicial system. The Parliament is also considering bills aimed at expanding the scope of administrative justice, which makes it possible to satisfy up to 60% of claims against actions and inaction of state bodies.
The participation of the leadership of the Judicial Administration in the session emphasizes the importance of judicial reforms for the protection of citizens' rights and improving the efficiency of justice, which is an important element of the country's general course to strengthen democratic foundations.
