Kazakhstan plans to open direct flights to New York by the end of 2025. Negotiations on this issue took place at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal between the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), El.kz reports.

The Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev arrived in Montreal to participate in the Fourteenth Air Navigation Conference (AN-CONF/14), where he also met with the leadership of the FAA. During the talks, the parties agreed on the need to launch direct flights between Kazakhstan and the United States and discussed important issues such as the timely delivery of aircraft and the receipt of slots for flights.

"It is planned that a direct flight to the United States will be launched at the end of 2025. It is expected that flights will be operated with a frequency of twice a week (at least)," the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan said.

In addition, in the period from August 26 to 30 this year in Astana, FAA experts conducted a Preliminary Flight Safety Assessment (IASA) for Kazakhstan to obtain Category 1 (CAT1). This status is necessary for the launch of direct flights between Kazakhstan and the United States, which is an important step towards the implementation of plans.
