Kazakhstan to establish Committee of World Road Association

First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar held a meeting with President of the World Road Association Nazir Alli and Deputy Secretary General of PIARC Robin Sebill, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, Roman Sklyar informed the representatives of PIARC about the development of roads and transportation, upcoming plans and the importance of cooperation with the association.

In turn, president of the association Nazir Alli noted that Kazakhstan's accession to PIARC provides an opportunity to gain access to modern technical developments and industry documentation related to roads, engineering structures, road traffic, which are developed in technical committees with the participation of more than 1200 international experts.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed that the National Committee of the World Road Association in Kazakhstan will be established for further cooperation.

In October this year, Kazakhstan will take part in the World Road Congress, which will be held in Prague.

PIARC is an international organization and serves as the largest platform for the interaction of experts and the exchange of experience in the field of roads and road freight transport. The association was founded in 1909 in Paris.

The key activities of PIARC are the World Road Congresses and the International Winter Road Congresses, organized every four years to exchange methodologies and experiences in the field of roads and road freight transport. In October 2021, the PIARC Council approved the accession of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Association, and in November 2022, the republic officially joined the PIARC.
