The delegation of Kazakhstan discussed global challenges and prospects for the use of nuclear technologies at a conference in Vienna, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From November 26 to 28, 2024, the 2024 IAEA Ministerial Conference took place on 26-28 November 2024 in Vienna, dedicated to the use of nuclear technology in solving global problems. The event centred on food security, climate change, health and water management.
The Kazakh delegation included Director of the Department of Nuclear Energy and Industry of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gumar Sergazin and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his speech, Gumar Sergazin stressed the importance of the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme, which contributes to strengthening national capacities, introducing innovations and disseminating best practices.
The conference also discussed the prospects for the further development of nuclear technologies and improving their safety in various industries. Participants noted the key role of international cooperation and knowledge sharing in achieving sustainable development goals and strengthening global security.
Kazakhstan remains committed to international obligations in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy and intends to continue active cooperation with the IAEA.
