A third of Kazakhstan's population are children, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the end of 2024, the country adopted three key laws aimed at protecting the rights and improving the living conditions of children.

One of the important initiatives was the law on education and mentoring. Within the framework of this law, the institute of mentors has been created, which helps children left without parental care to adapt to society. Over 330 children are already receiving the necessary support.

The law on ensuring the rights of women and the safety of children toughened responsibility for offenses against minors, including bullying.

Since 2025, QR codes have been introduced in schools and colleges of the country.

The third law, related to state awards, education and protection of the rights of the child, provides for the creation of professional foster families. This new form of family placement will provide care and support for children in difficult life situations.

At the end of 2024, 82% of orphans and children left without parental care are brought up in Kazakhstani families. More than 3 thousand children found new families last year.
