Kazakhstan strengthens cooperation with global energy leaders at CERAWeek 2025 in US

The Kazakh delegation headed by Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev held strategic talks with the energy leaders in US, El.kz reports.

The meeting centred on the prospects for increasing hydrocarbon production, accelerated development of gas processing capacities, attracting investment in geological exploration, introducing innovative technologies and expanding projects in the field of renewable energy sources.

During the meeting with the CEO of Chevron Corporation Michael Wirth, and key executives, the parties discussed key issues of the development of of joint projects at the Tengiz and Karachaganak oilfields, the implementation of the future expansion project and long-term plans for oil production.

The Kazakh side stressed the need to meet deadlines and optimize the costs of implementing large projects.

Negotiations with the oil giants Shell, Eni focused on the gas strategy, including the construction of a new gas processing plant with a capacity of up to 4 billion cubic meters per year, which will provide the domestic market and the production of liquefied petroleum gas.

Joint projects in the field of renewable energy were also discussed, in particular, the construction of a hybrid wind-solar power plant with a capacity of 120 MW in the Mangistau region.

The Kazakh delegation also visited the Honeywell Technology Center in Houston, where they discussed the possibilities of introducing digital technologies in the energy sector.

"Kazakhstan creates all conditions for attracting advanced technologies and investments in the energy sector. We are focused on long-term partnership with world industry leaders and the implementation of ambitious projects that will contribute to the sustainable development of the country and strengthen global energy security," Almasadam Satkaliyev said.
