Under the leadership of the Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev, an extended meeting on preparations for the 5th World Nomad Games was held in the capital . The event was attended by representatives of the Association of National Sports, the Directorate of the World Nomad Games, the Center for National and Equestrian Sports, as well as presidents of national sports federations, El.kz reports.
Minister Yermek Marzhikpayev stressed the importance of the Games for Kazakhstan, referring to the words of the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"According to the President's instructions, the games should be held at the highest level. It is important for us to be clear about what steps have already been taken and what tasks remain to be solved. All current problems need to be fixed as soon as possible. The training of national teams should be held at a high level, and it is necessary to guarantee athletes high-quality conditions for training, including the solution of financial issues," the minister said.
Delegations from more than 100 countries are expected to attend the 5th World Nomad Games. The Games will be unique due to the combination of sporting, cultural and scientific events. The program of the games includes 20 competitive and 10 demonstration sports, where 110 sets of medals will be played. Among the disciplines are national wrestling, archery, types of bird hunting and traditional intellectual games.
To date, the list of athletes participating in the Games and the list of competitions have been approved.
Athletes of national teams will take part in many international and local training camps, as well as in republican and international competitions, starting in January 2024.
