The creation of this educational center is dictated by the need to train new state managers who appeared after the introduction of the system of direct elections of akims.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that among the elected leaders, a significant part are specialists without experience in the civil service, including doctors and teachers. It is for them that the School of Akims program has been developed, which will allow them to master key competencies.
The project is aimed at developing economic knowledge and improving the efficiency of akims of rural districts and districts. As part of the training, managers will gain knowledge in the development of economic development programs, budgeting, legislation, as well as master the skills of working with the population and the business sector. They will learn how to determine the economic specialization of their regions, as well as build a system for marketing locally produced products.
Speaker of the Mazhilis and Chairman of the AMANAT party Yerlan Koshanov stressed that the reform of the election of akims is one of the key steps in the democratization of the country. He noted that the winning candidates must justify the trust of voters, and the party, together with the Government, will help them master the necessary management skills.
