The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan has revised the tariffs for the provision of medical services in the field of obstetrics and neonatology in order to improve the quality of medical care in maternity hospitals, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From June 1, tariffs for complicated births, including cesarean sections, have been increased by 60%, and for newborn care - by 35%. These changes are aimed at expanding the list and quality of medical services, as well as attracting more qualified specialists.

In recent years, the tariffs have not covered the costs that medical organizations incurred in connection with the care of women in labor and newborns. Insufficient funding has become one of the main reasons for the formation of accounts payable from medical institutions involved in obstetrics.

When recalculating tariffs, the real costs of medical institutions that they incur when providing services to patients were taken into account. The measures taken will allow medical organizations to achieve financial stability, which, in turn, will improve the quality and availability of medical care for the population. Staying in maternity hospitals will become more comfortable and safe for the mother and her baby.

The Ministry of Health will continue to improve the healthcare system so that every family in Kazakhstan can count on affordable and high-quality medical care. To this end, from June 1, 2024, the tariffs for organizations providing medical care in pediatric neurology, pediatric allergology and rheumatology have also been increased.
