The event was organized by the Constanta Port Business Association, with the active support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Romania. The driver of the event was the need of the business community of the Caspian Sea region countries in establishing partnerships with port operators from Constanta.

Along with maritime, railway, intermodal carriers, operators and shippers from Kazakhstan, major transport companies and business representatives from Georgia, Azerbaijan and Romania took part in the event. Among them were the ports of Aktau, Batumi, Baku and the port of Constanta. Besides, the invited guests were Secretary General of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Association (TITR) Gaidar Abdykarimov, Romanian representative in TRACECA Magdalena Grigore, management of Constanta Region Administration, members of the Romanian Government and Parliament.

The participants of the meeting discussed the measures on further development of the TITR, ways of simplification of goods deliveries and issues of mutual investments. It was noted that the transport and logistics capabilities of the ports of Aktau and Constanta have great potential, and the forum highlighted the importance of connecting these ports to unlock and utilize the potential of the TITR

At the event, Romanian Minister of Economy Florin Spataru said that: “This is an important event and we expect to see results which will lead to increased throughput capacity for both the port of Constanta and other participating countries. This is very important at this time when it comes to industrialization or increasing production capacity. Constanta Port is a strategic point for Europe, as well as for the Black Sea and Caspian Sea region, and therefore we will develop not only imports, but also exports.”

Constanta Port's connection with the logistics networks in the Caspian Region was also announced at the forum – the opening of the R0-R0 passenger-transport line between Poti Port/Georgia and Constanta Port/Romania, which will be opened during April 2023. The forum attracted the attention not only of Romanian business representatives, but also experts in the field of cargo transportation and representatives of major media in Romania.
