Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation Kairat Sarzhanov met with Director of the Swiss Federal Office of Culture Karin Bachmann, El.kz cites MFA.
During the meeting, Ambassador noted the continuous development of bilateral cooperation and the interest of the Kazakh side in expanding interaction in the field of culture and art, highlighting projects in these areas, including concerts in the Swiss cities of Astana Ballet, the State Dance Theater “Naz”, and the Ethno-folklore Ensemble “Turan”. He underlined the partnership with the Bern Historical Museum, which exhibits unique 19th-century exhibits from the collection of Swiss diplomat and traveler Henri Moser, presented to him by the rulers of the Kazakh steppes. In this context, Sarzhanov spoke about the formation of national identity as the basis for the country’s prosperity, and shared the main content of the “Born Bold” international campaign.
Bachmann provided information on the principles of cultural policy implementation at the federal level, local practice of supporting languages and other cultural characteristics of Switzerland. She welcomed the opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan, expressing interest in the distinctive culture of the Kazakh people.
