Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov held a meeting with Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy Bosun Tijani to discuss prospects for cooperation in space technology, e-government, and fintech solutions,El.kz cites Kazakh MFA.
The Kazakh side expressed its readiness to share expertise in developing digital platforms, implementing e-government solutions, and advancing fintech innovations. The parties agreed to develop joint initiatives and explore specific projects in the digital sector.
Additionally, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Algeria Anuarbek Akhmetov met with representatives of the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where discussions focused on enhancing business ties between the private sectors of both countries. Participants agreed to develop a mechanism to support Kazakh and Nigerian companies in entering each other’s markets and explore joint venture opportunities.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC Kazakh Invest” Madiyar Sultanbek held talks with the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, where the parties exchanged expertise in attracting foreign investments and discussed prospective areas of cooperation. Furthermore, he met with the leadership of Nigeria’s Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), which manages the country’s state assets. During the meeting, MOFI representatives expressed particular interest in financing instruments through development institutions and models for effective state enterprise management.
The visit also featured B2B meetings between Kazakh and Nigerian entrepreneurs, where they discussed expanding trade, launching joint projects, and localizing production in energy, mining, finance, transport, logistics, and agriculture.
As part of the visit, the Kazakh delegation signed two memorandums of understanding: MoU between the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and Nigeria’s Taj Bank, outlining the registration of Taj Bank’s branch at AIFC and the launch of cooperation in Islamic finance; and MoU between JSC NC Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary and Suburban Broadband Limited, establishing cooperation in space activities.
