Ambassador of Kazakhstan Margulan Baimukhan paid a working visit to Luxembourg, during which he held separate meetings with Minister for Digitalization, Minister for Higher Education and Research Stéphanie Obertin, Chairman of the Foreign and European Affairs Committee of the Grand Duchy’s Parliament Gusty Graas, and Director General of EIB Global of the European Investment Bank Andrew McDowell, El.kz cites Kazakh FM.
During the conversation with Stéphanie Obertin, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of digitalization, including the exchange of experience in the implementation and regulation of artificial intelligence technologies. The Luxembourg minister highly praised Kazakhstan’s achievements in digitalizing public services.
During the meeting with Gusty Graas, the focus was on the development of political and economic dialogue between Kazakhstan and Luxembourg, including active cooperation in the interparliamentary track (including within PACE and the European Parliament), as well as issues of regional and global security. He welcomed the expansion of mutually beneficial interregional partnership between the European Union and Central Asian countries. Ambassador Baimukhan informed his interlocutor about the socio-political reforms in Kazakhstan being implemented at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
At the meeting with Andrew McDowell, promising infrastructure projects planned for implementation in Kazakhstan with the support of the European Investment Bank were discussed. European partners expressed interest in co-financing joint projects in the areas of transport, energy efficiency, and development of critical raw materials.
