A meeting was held between Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Latvia Dauren Karipov and State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Latvia Andulis Zidkovs, El.kz cites MFA.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further steps for cooperation in the transit and transport sector, including a schedule of joint activities for 2025, as well as the implementation of previously reached agreements.
Particular attention was paid to ensuring practical implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum on the Development of International Transport Routes. In this regard, the parties agreed on the need to intensify work on the introduction of modern technologies in the management of cargo flows, simplification of border crossing procedures, as well as the formation of new transport flows along the “East-West” axis.
In addition, the sides exchanged views on opening direct air services between the two countries in 2025 and increasing the quota of permits for international road transport.
