Kazakhstan and Japan to create joint projects on environmental protection

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nysanbayev and Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan R. Kozuki during a bilateral meeting discussed issues of mutual cooperation in the field of ecology, development of forestry and wildlife, El.kz reports with reference to the department.

The Minister of Ecology of Kazakhstan noted that Japan is one of the largest economic partners of Kazakhstan, with vast experience in the field of environmental protection and the introduction of environmental innovations.

It was also announced that the Kazakh side was developing a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Japan on cooperation in the field of environmental protection, which was sent to the Japanese side for consideration.

This Memorandum provides for cooperation on climate change, waste management, development of green technologies and biodiversity conservation.

The parties also discussed the implementation of scientific projects in the field of wildlife, including artificial breeding of wild animals.

At the end of the meeting, the parties thanked each other and expressed confidence in strengthening further mutual cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
