Kazakhstan and China develop cooperation in international transportation

During the recent state visit of the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the People's Republic of China, the governments of the two countries signed an agreement on the development of mutual partnership in the direction of international road transport,  El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The 1st agreement on international road transport between the Kazakhstan and China was first concluded in 1992.

In accordance with modern requirements, a subsequent document was signed this year.

According to statistics, at the end of last year, the volume of bilateral cargo transportation increased by 65% and amounted to 265 thousand tons. Also, transit transportation of Chinese goods increased by 2.6 times and amounted to 1.1 million tons.

Thus, the new agreement provides for the introduction of information technologies, improvement of transportation conditions, and thereby creates conditions for a further increase in the volume of cargo transportation between the two countries.

According to this document, the competent authorities annually exchange permit forms in an agreed quantity for passenger and freight transportation.Permits for the passage of a vehicle are issued by the competent authorities or organizations designated by them directly to carriers.

In addition, at the request of one of the parties and with mutual agreement, an additional number of transport authorization forms may be exchanged. At the same time, a permit issued in paper form must be certified by the competent authority and the signature of the responsible person who issued it. Permits issued in electronic form must be certified by the EDS of the responsible person.

As for the decision on the type, quantity, form, exchange procedure and other conditions for the issuance and use of the permit, it is taken by a joint commission established in accordance with article 17 of this agreement.

It is expected that the document will contribute to the development and strengthening of cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and China, as there is a mutual interest of the parties to increase mutually beneficial partnership in this sector.
