Kazakh schoolchildren to participate at world's largest robotics championship

The Central Asian International Championship in Robotics and Drones Almaty Tech Cup - 2025 has ended in Almaty. Over 3 thousand participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, India, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the event, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Education.

This year, the theme of the robotics championships was devoted to the study of the global problem of water resources and the underwater world. Participants not only designed robots, but also developed projects aimed at water purification, ecosystem monitoring and restoration of marine life. Schoolchildren presented their scientific developments and innovative startup projects in four age categories.

According to the results of three days of competition in the senior age category, the FIRST Tech Challenge and Akim's Cup of Almaty, as well as a ticket to the world championship in Houston, USA, were won by the PID team from Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in Almaty. Also, the honor of the country in the United States will be defended by the teams "JelToqSun" from specialized boarding school «Murager» in the Karaganda region, CRISTABOL from NIS PhMD, as well as Sana Team Almaty "Bilim-Innovation" Lyceum.

In the middle age category of the FIRST LEGO League Challenge, two teams became winners: "RassLexx" from the specialized boarding school "Murager" in the Karaganda region, "SKILLSET" from the city of Astana.

In the junior age category of FIRST, LEGO League Explore was won by the Atlantis team from the Pavlodar region.

Teams will come together in Houston, Texas, USA on April 16-19, 2025.
