Kazakh PM holds a Economic Demonopolisation Commission meeting

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting of the Economic Demonopolisation Commission, which considered the implementation of the Presidential Decree "On measures to liberalise the economy", El.kz cites primeminister.kz.

Deputy Prime Minister Nurlan Baibazarov, Chairman of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition Marat Omarov, heads of interested government agencies and departments made reports on the work carried out.

In addition, the Commission was presented information on the activities of Dosjan Temir Joly JSC, which provides transportation process on the "Shar Station - Ust-Kamenogorsk" railway line. Authorised bodies found that the company, using its monopoly position, repeatedly unreasonably overestimated tariffs for services, in connection with which the Commission decided to introduce appropriate tariff regulation taking into account the antimonopoly legislation.

The Commission was also familiarised with the results of the analysis of the activity of the distribution power company Shet-Energo LLP. In connection with the admission of regular emergencies by the company, as well as to avoid harm to the life and health of residents of the region, it was decided to apply to the court to requisition the property of the company in favour of the state.

In addition, the Commission considered issues related to the activities of a subsidiary of NC KTZ JSC, water supply and wastewater disposal organisations, and a petrochemical complex entity
