The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in partnership with the popular short video platform TikTok, has launched a (#Kazkahstani teachers) competition. The goal of the initiative is to popularize educational content among a wide audience and inspire teachers to creatively present their material, El.kz reports.
The TikTok platform is actively used to view and create educational content in Kazakhstan. For example, videos on literary topics using the hashtag #кітапток have gained over 70 million views among Kazakh users.
The competition will be held from November 1 to December 17. All educators who run or want to start their TikTok account can participate. Requirements for videos: duration of at least 30 seconds and mandatory use of contest hashtags.
The jury of the competition, consisting of project ambassadors, representatives of TikTok and the Ministry of Education, will evaluate videos in four categories: "TikTok Teacher 2023", "TikTok Teacher 2023", "Discovery on TikTok" and "Best Video".
Winners will receive iPhone 15 Pro smartphones to create quality content. Mereke Nurmukhanova, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education, expressed hope that thanks to the project, teachers will find new creative ways of teaching and inspire students to seek knowledge.
