Kazakh Ambassador to India speaks at Kolkata global business summit

The 8th Bengal Global Business Summit was held in Kolkata, West Bengal, where 5,000 delegates including policy makers, corporate executives, business delegations, entrepreneurs, academia and think tanks from across the globe participated to build strategic and business alliances and to learn about the state's industrial ecosystem and business friendly initiatives, El.kz cites MFA.

The event program included plenary sessions, parallel conferences, industry sessions for target sectors, country sessions with partner countries, B2B and B2G meetings.

Kazakh delegation was represented by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India, Nurlan Zhalgasbayev, who in his speech during the plenary session noted the positive trend in the development of relations between Kazakhstan and India. He paid special attention to the prospects of economic cooperation, in particular such sectors as industry, tourism agriculture, IT and others. According to him, Kazakhstan and India have all the prerequisites for increasing the level of relations in the near future, as the countries pursue common interests aimed at maintaining the level of economic growth.

In addition, Summit participants were introduced to the Kazakh media campaign “Kazakhstan Born Bold”, aimed at strengthening the country’s image on the international stage. Information was also presented about the upcoming Astana International Forum 2025, which is set to become a key platform for global dialogue and international cooperation.

“West Bengal, especially the city of Kolkata, is one of the centers of IT industry in India. Kazakhstan, at this stage developing its digital technologies, can cooperate with Indian companies in the field of software development, artificial intelligence and other high-tech areas,” the Kazakh representative noted during his speech.

Making a report at the panel session, the head of the Kazakh delegation familiarized those present with the investment climate of Kazakhstan. He also suggested organizing a “Road show” for representatives of big Bengali businesses to showcase the economic opportunities of our country.

A number of productive bilateral meetings were held on the margins of the event, during which the participants were briefed on the state support measures available to foreign investors and the policy reforms underway in Kazakhstan. Information booklets and relevant investment teasers were handed over to all participants of the bilateral meetings for familiarization.
