The XIX International Zhautykov Olympiad starts in Almaty with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Over 1200 schoolchildren will take part in it, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Education.
281 teams from 25 countries including Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Georgia, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, India, Turkey, Great Britain, etc. will compete in knowledges in three subjects at once - mathematics, physics and computer science.
The winners will be awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals. The Olympiad will be held from 1 to 10 February on the basis of the Republican Physics and Mathematics School in Almaty.
