A delegation of international experts, including representatives of the UNECE, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the Italian Statistical Institute and other organizations, will arrive in Kazakhstan to analyze environmental statistics, El.kz reports.

The visit is aimed at supporting the country in the development and implementation of effective indicators on climate change and sustainable development.

In the context of global warming, climate change issues are becoming more and more relevant. By adopting a new Environmental Code and the Concept for the Transition to a Green Economy, Kazakhstan is taking important steps towards sustainable development. An important initiative was the approval of the Strategy for achieving carbon neutrality until 2060 and the creation of a classification of green projects for financing.

International experts will help assess the current state of environmental statistics in Kazakhstan and suggest ways to monitor climate change more effectively. This cooperation will also contribute to the improvement of the system of natural and economic accounting in the country.
