Indian scientist Faisal Usmanbhai Holia is conducting scientific work in the field of "green" chemistry at the Mining and Metallurgy Institute named after O.A. Baikonurov of Satbayev University, El.kz reports with reference to the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
In his research activities, he pays special attention to the modification of polysaccharides - agarose and chitosan, which can be used in various biomedical and environmental developments.
Now Faisal is engaged in optimizing methods for obtaining pectin and nanocellulose from beet pulp. The obtained substances can be used in the food industry, pharmaceuticals and modern medical methods.
According to the scientist, he was attracted by the interdisciplinary approach of Satbayev University, which helps to contribute to solving the problems of sustainable development and improving the quality of life.
The scientific supervisor of the postdoctoral researcher is Associate Professor Sana Kabdrakhmanov. During her work experience, the scientist has published 10 articles in leading journals Q1 (Carbohydrate Polymers, Polymer International), two chapters in books by Elsevier and Nova Publishers.
