The Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov familiarized himself with the project of expansion of the Kaspiy desalination plant for additional water supply in the region as part of a working visit to Mangystau region, El.kz cites primeminister.kz.
Work on the expansion of the plant began in 2020 and is currently in its final stage. Due to the project, production of drinking water at Kaspiy should increase up to 40 thousand cubic meters per day, which will ensure stable water supply in the region.
Director of the enterprise Nurlybay Akkulov reported on the works carried out for modernization of the plant. According to him, to complete the project requires about 5 billion tenge, in particular, for the purchase of missing equipment.
The Prime Minister noted that the project is of great importance to 180 thousand residents of Munaily, Tupkaragan and Karakiya districts of Mangystau region.
"The Government will allocate the necessary funds for its completion in the very near future. The regional Akimat needs to take all measures for the prompt launch of new production facilities at the desalination plant," Alikhan Smailov said.
