G4 City project reviewed in Government

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerulan Zhamaubayev held a conference call on implementation of the G4 City project with participation of representatives of state bodies, The Astana International Financial Centre, Akimat of Almaty region, Caspian Group JSC, El.kz cites primeminister.kz.

The meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Smailov was held on 24 Dec 2022 to review the progress of the project, following the results of which an instruction was given to update the road map in terms of detailing and phasing of measures to grant the status of special economic zones, as well as approval of a master plan for the project in accordance with its concept by adjusting the master plans of satellite cities of Almaty.

Currently, the main engineering networks are connected to the territory of Gate City satellite town, and the construction of Koyankus residential area has started.

To date, 4 urban planning documents regulating the development of the Almaty agglomeration have been developed and approved:

The Akimat of Almaty region is monitoring the implementation of urban development projects in the suburban area of Almaty city.

It should be reminded that since 2008 the project on development of 4 new G4 City satellite towns has been realised in the territory of Almaty oblast. Last year an action plan on implementation of the G4 City project was approved which covers comprehensive development issues, including those raised by investors during their visit to Kazakhstan.

According to the Concept signed by the President of Kazakhstan in the long term, the project will be developed as an integrated city located along the Almaty-Konayev highway, and will consist of four districts: Gate - business and financial centre, Golden - educational and medical hubs, Growing - industrial and logistic hubs, Green - tourism and entertainment.
