Franchises of number of Korean universities to be opened in Kazakhstan

Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek held a meeting with Vice Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea Oh Seok Hwan,El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education .

As part of the working visit of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek to South Korea, a bilateral meeting was held with the Vice Minister of Education OH Seok Hwan. The parties discussed topical issues of Kazakh-South Korean bilateral cooperation in the field of education, the possibility of exchanging research experience, opening branches of Korean universities in Kazakhstan.

Sayasat Nurbek stressed the importance of strategic partnership between the two countries in the field of education and spoke about the activities of the Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata, founded in 1937 on the basis of the Far Eastern Korean Pedagogical Institute.

Vice Minister of Education OH Seok Hwan supported the proposal and expressed readiness to assist in opening a franchise of a number of Korean universities in Kazakhstan, as well as to intensify work on the development of joint research projects.

In addition, the parties discussed cooperation in the field of academic mobility, the opening of courses for the study of the Korean language in universities of Kazakhstan, the expansion of cooperation within the framework of the Bolashak international scholarship and the 500 Scientists scientific internship program.

As a result of the meeting, Mr. OH Seok Hwan invited Sayasat Nurbek to the Global Education Summit, which will be held on August 28-29 in Seoul.
