In January-July of this year, foreign trade turnover increased by 36.9% and amounted to 74.3 billion US dollars. This was announced by the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov at a meeting of the Government, El.kz reports.
"In particular, the export figure grew by 52.9% and amounted to 48.9 billion dollars. At the same time, exports of processed goods grew by 35.7% to 14.3 billion dollars. Imports of goods amounted to $25.3 billion," Alibek Kuantyrov said.
In general, as the minister noted, the positive trade balance amounted to 23.6 billion dollars. The manufacturing industry maintains a positive growth rate. In January-August of this year, the volume of production increased by 4.8%.
"Positive growth was recorded in 16 regions. The largest increase is noted in East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl and Kostanay regions, as well as in the city of Almaty," Alibek Kuantyrov said.
