Within the framework of the official visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze to Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Botchorishvili, El.kz cites MFA.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of Kazakh-Georgian relations in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Special attention was given to the creation of favorable conditions for business communities of the two countries.
The mutual mood of Astana and Tbilisi to further increase interstate cooperation with a view to realizing agreements on expansion of cooperation in the economic sphere was confirmed. In this context, the important coordinating role of the Kazakhstan-Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was noted.
The parties unanimously noted the significant potential for cooperation in the areas of transportation, logistics and agriculture. The sides expressed their mutual willingness to intensify cooperation within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which has seen significant growth in cargo transshipment volumes.
The Ministers also “compared the notes” on topical issues on the regional and international agenda, noting the constructive interaction within the framework of international organizations.
