The first national school for gifted children, «ABAI ULTTYQ MEKTEBI», will open in Kazakhstan, El.kz reports citing Kazakh Ministry of Education.
The project is being implemented on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan.
The school is designed for 900 students and will include a boarding school, a teacher's house, a library, a sports complex and other modern educational facilities. The educational institution is expected to open its doors this year.
The school's program is based on Abai's philosophy, reflecting his five key values.
According to the minister, the creation of "ABAI ULTTYQ MEKTEBI" is a strategic step in the development of domestic education, aimed at educating intellectuals who are deeply aware of their national identity, speak languages and are ready for world challenges.
A single educational program "ABAY-Programme" focused on the formation of a multilingual, intellectually developed and nationally conscious personality. An important part of the project will be cooperation with the Kazakh National Pedagogical University Abay.
Within its framework, the "Abay Laboratory" will be created, where scientific research will be carried out and methods in the field of humanitarian education will be developed.
