Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapaev held a working meeting with representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), El.kz reports citing the press service of the department.
The discussion focused on the renovation of the country's communal infrastructure and Kazakhstan's possible participation in the FELICITY II environmental project.
The main emphasis is placed on the modernization of water supply and sanitation systems, including the construction of modern treatment facilities.
The deterioration of utility networks requires significant investments, so the parties considered ways of financing, as well as the introduction of digital technologies for resource management.
The European Investment Bank expressed its readiness to support priority infrastructure projects, and GIZ experts noted that participation in the FELICITY II program will allow Kazakhstan to introduce energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable technologies.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to analyze the state of the communal infrastructure, develop financing mechanisms and prepare pilot projects.
