The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is actively working to create a regulatory framework to support organic agriculture to meet the growing demand for organic products. The organization of a common market for organic products will allow the EAEU countries to avoid multiple certification and simplify trade, El.kz reports.

The global organic market is estimated to be worth $174.37 billion today, and by 2029, this figure could grow to $233.56 billion, with an average annual growth rate of 6.02%. This growth is pushing countries to standardize and develop appropriate production regulations.

In 2021, the heads of government of the EAEU member states approved a "Roadmap" for the creation of a common market for organic products, which is aimed at facilitating the mutual recognition of certification within the union. Within the framework of this program, a draft Agreement on the recognition of organic products in the territory of the EAEU countries was developed, which was discussed on September 17.

The signing of the Agreement in 2025 is expected to open up new opportunities for Kazakhstan's organic producers, ensuring free trade in a market of 185 million people. This will allow Kazakh entrepreneurs to increase exports, strengthen international positions and strengthen competition within the union.
