In order to familiarize with the state policy of Kazakhstan in the field of maintaining inter-religious harmony and inter-confessional dialogue, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Bulgaria Viktor Temirbayev held a meeting with Daniil, the new Patriarch of Bulgaria and Metropolitan bishop of Sofia, El.kz cites MFA.
During the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat informed about the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the countries, as well as familiarized with the unique Kazakhstan’s model of interethnic and interfaith dialogue society.
At the same time, Ambassador Temirbayev emphasized the role of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in the issues of preserving inter-confessional harmony, and conveyed an official invitation on behalf of the Head of the Secretariat of the Congress Maulen Ashimbayev to participate in the work of the VIII Congress, which will be held under the theme “Dialogue of Religions: Synergy for the Future” in September 2025 in Astana.
In turn, His Holiness Patriarch Daniil highly appreciated the international initiatives and achievements of our country in strengthening the dialogue among civilizations and religions, and expressed the interest of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in participating in the upcoming Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
