DESCENDANTS OF THE REPRESSED ARE GRATEFUL TO THE KAZAKH PEOPLE FOR THEIR SELFLESS HELP

The dialogue platform "In the memory of descendants" dedicated to the Remembrance Day of Political Repression and Famine Victims was held in Aktobe. It was prepared by the experts of "Kogamdyk kelisim" MPI and scientific and expert group at the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan of Aktobe region.

Director of "Kogamdyk kelisim" MPI Bahytgul Snabayeva addressed the participants of the quorum with a welcoming speech, drawing attention to the unique archival documents and thematic exhibition of books.

The main report was made by professor of K. Zhubanov ARSU, doctor of historical sciences Talgat Zhumagambetov, who told about the stages of Stalin's repressions.

In turn, Head of department of the State Institution "Archive of Aktobe region" Bahytgul Yeshmuratova introduced the documents of those times telling about the bitter pages of the history of the Kazakh steppe, and candidate of historical sciences Inna Lee, as a descendant of the repressed Koreans, focused on the help of the Kazakh people. She noted that "in these difficult times our ancestors did not harden and did not become angry at each other. We shared our last handful of millet and kurt, warmth and selflessness. The steadfastness of our ancestors is amazing, we have something to learn from them, to take over the best and the most beautiful things.

Hasan Sagayev, chairman of the Council of Elders of the Chechen-Ingush ECA "Vainakh", and Galina Azhgaliyeva, deputy chairman of the Association of Koreans of Aktobe region, spoke about the difficult fate of their parents and the history of their families.
