Days of Kazakh cinema held in Yerevan

Within the framework of the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Armenia, as well as the Independence Day of Kazakhstan Days of Kazakh Cinema were held, El.kz cites MFA.

The films provided by the State Center for Support of National Film “KAZAKHCINEMA” reflect the rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan, the development and formation of prominent representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia, reveal social issues of society and intergenerational relations and encourage patriotism and love for the Motherland.

The opening ceremony held in the House of Cinema of Armenia was attended by representatives of the Office of the President, ministries and departments, public circles, Armenian media, as well as the Kazakh diaspora living in Armenia. In his welcoming speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Bolat Imanbayev noted that the cultural and humanitarian sphere of bilateral cooperation, saturated with bright events, makes a significant contribution to the further strengthening of Kazakh-Armenian ties. The films presented to the audience will allow to be acquainted with the development of modern cinema in Kazakhstan and to see the unique features and spiritual values that each people values.

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Artur Martirosyan emphasized the high level of cultural and humanitarian interaction, which is evidenced by the Days of Culture of Armenia successfully held in October this year in Astana, which was held with the participation of the Heads of State of the two countries. “In this beautiful environment, we are united by a strong friendship between Armenia and Kazakhstan. Cultural cooperation continues to develop, covering almost all areas of art. I am sure that joint events will continue in new formats, contributing to the further development of cultural ties between our countries”, – said Artur Martirosyan.

Member of the Board of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia, professor of the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema, famous film expert and film critic Aneta Yerznkyan emphasized that Kazakh cinema at the present stage occupies a prominent place in the world cinema, and the event is a good opportunity for Armenian filmmakers to get acquainted with the experience of Kazakhstan.

Head of the Department of Turkology of Yerevan State University, Professor Alexander Safaryan noted that Armyannographic Kypchak-speaking manuscripts stored at the Armenian Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots (Matenadaran) testify to centuries-old cultural ties between the Kazakh and Armenian peoples. In his opinion, “The days of Kazakh cinema in Yerevan symbolize the deepening of our relations”.
