Amur tigers brought from the Netherlands will become the basis for the restoration plan of Turanian tigers in Kazakhstan, El.kz reports.

The program is implemented by the Kazakh Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry with the support of the WWF.

The first tigers arrived in Kazakhstan  from the Netherlands. Restoring the tiger population is not only an environmental mission, but also a significant contribution to the global program for the conservation of endangered species.

The project also aims to improve the ecosystem of the Balkhash region, which will have a positive impact on the natural balance and provide the local population with sustainable environmental conditions.
