Ambassador of Kazakhstan meets with Adviser to President of Slovakia

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Tolezhan Barlybayev met with Ján Kubiš, Adviser to the President of the Slovak Republic on Foreign Policy and International Cooperation. They discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations, as well as the issues of mutual interaction between the two countries on the international scene, El.kz cites MFA.

Ambassador Barlybayev informed the negotiating partner about the results of the 10th session of the Kazakh-Slovak Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation and business forum, which were held on October, 2024 in Astana. There was a steady increase in the volume of foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Slovakia, which reached 160 million US dollars last year. The importance of implementing trade projects in the spheres of energy, defense industry, engineering, transport, agriculture, environmental protection, education and culture, tourism and sports was also stressed.

Ján Kubiš confirmed the Slovak leadership’s interest in bringing bilateral cooperation to a new qualitative level, which will be facilitated by organizing mutual visits at the high and highest level, expanding intergovernmental and inter-ministerial contacts, as well as business, cultural and educational exchanges. He also appreciated the long-standing interaction with Kazakhstan in the framework of international cooperation, stressing the high authority of the Kazakh leadership at the global level, as well as Kazakhstan’s leading role in Central Asia. Moreover, the Advisor to the Slovak President stressed the importance of implementing a program of political modernization and socio-economic reforms aimed at Kazakhstan’s development and prosperity.
